About
What does “rhetoric” mean?
The art or study of using language effectively and persuasively.
Who is Brent?
Brent is a super fun, smart guy with a fantastic wife and three beautiful daughters. He loves being in New England’s outdoors enjoying nature.
What are your guiding philosophies?
There is no divine purpose to life. I am most happy being with Kirsten and the girls and when I am with friends, learning, and pursuing my hobbies.
What do you read?
I read the New York Times every day. I also have subscriptions to Astronomy, Scientific American, Playboy, Technology Review, Outdoor Photographer, Down East, AOPA Pilot, Esquire, .net, Picture, Digital Photo Pro, Professional Photographer, Popular Photography and The Atlantic. I read most of them cover to cover. I also enjoy reading non-fiction books and legal thrillers.
What are your sports teams?
Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, New England Patriots, and Boston Red Sox. My favorite sport is ice hockey.
What are your hobbies?
I go through them. When Kirsten and I first got married it was woodworking, then flying, then shooting, and now photography. I’m not excited anymore about woodworking but I’m pretty sure the others will be lifelong passions. Somewhere in there I leaped into computers and the internet and earned a bachelors degree in computer science. I love developing web applications using MySQL, PHP, JavaScript, XHTML, CSS, Perl, and other client and server-side programs.
