    Hey Brent,

    Thanks for posting this. I don’t know this guy, but I think you’re both right (except maybe for the bit about soccer).

    The problem isn’t “not being number one”. After all, by definition, only one country can be number one in any category!

    The problem is constantly beating your chest and going around saying you are, instead of focusing on actually being the best you can be. It’s at least a little bit deluded…

    So is it any wonder so much of the rest of the world takes such great joy in making fun of America?

    Couldn’t agree more. When I become King of the World I’m going to erase the imaginary (usually) lines dividing the countries. Many citizens of the United States are fanatical patriotic zealots who haven’t read the Constitution and don’t engage in political debate. Patriotism is too often a cloak for bigotry and is almost as bad as religion…okay, not that bad ;)
